Steve Saunders: CFD Modeling Specialist, MSME
Steve brings 24 years of engineering experience to IBIS Group. He holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of New Brunswick and Purdue University respectively. Industrial experience includes project management and R&D work in both the water and aerospace industries.
Aerospace activities for Steve have been primarily in the propulsion sector with design of inlet particle separators, hot section cooling and low emission combustion analysis.
Ten years with a submersible pump and mixer manufacturer provided the opportunity for Steve to put CFD modeling to work in both product development and in applications in the field. A significant contribution has been his expediting the expansion of CFD’s role from that of a design and development tool to one used in both problem solving and in landing sales contracts.
IBIS Group: Specializing in Fluid Flow Modeling
Established in 2004, IBIS Group is an independent corporation providing computer modeling and simulation services to the water, environmental, petroleum and power industries. Located in north-central Florida, we are tuned in to the issues affecting our ecology and can offer flow simulations for a range of applications including:
- pump sump analysis and design
- wastewater treatment plant component analysis and design
- open channel flow and river hydraulics
- interaction of ocean waves with stationary and moving structures
- industrial process simulation
- mixing analysis and species tracking
- flue gas modeling
- combustion and emissions analysis
Flow simulations are performed by IBIS Group using the commercial CFD codes Fluent from ANSYS Inc. and Flow-3D from Flow Science Inc. Physical modeling is performed by our partner consulting group Hydrotec Consultants Ltd.
